Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory of maintenance equipment, ordering parts as necessary.
  • Train and oversee new maintenance technicians.

Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of a team environment in the automotive world?

Adler Pelzer Group - a growing Tier One supplier of Acoustic and Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking a strong and motivated Maintenance Manager for the manufacturing operations in Thomson, GA.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the personnel and equipment regarding activities with design, construction, modification, and maintenance of machinery in manufacturing so that throughput, inventory, and operating expense objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager:

  • Manages the tasks, assignments, and schedules for personnel within his/her department
  • Analyzes mechanical, electrical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Tests newly installed or refurbished equipment to ensure fulfillment to specification and safety.
  • Develop and maintain the Preventative Maintenance Program. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment to reduce downtime.
  • Notifies plant manager of recurring equipment malfunctions and of corrective action taken.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory of maintenance equipment and parts. Order new parts as necessary.
  • Trains and oversees newly hired maintenance technicians
  • Troubleshoot PLC problems.
  • Install and maintain program modifications for all machines.
  • Coordinate with plant superintendent and/or plant manager and maintenance department for the installation and removal of equipment.
  • Engineer changes to enhance production operation of equipment.
  • Immediately respond to maintenance issues when production has stopped due to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic problems.
  • Communicate with facilities manager or plant manager when outside services are needed for repairs.
  • Complete purchase order requisitions for all purchased goods, equipment, or services.
  • Complete other duties (building maintenance, etc...) as assigned by plant superintendent or plant manager.
  • Communicate with shift supervisors with regard to maintenance issues.
  • Accepts assignments and other responsibilities as required to support team objectives.
  • Required to adhere to plant safety and environmental (ISO 14001) requirements as established by company policy.
  • Required to adhere to applicable IATF 16949:2016 requirements.
  • Will be required to work necessary overtime and possibly a 2nd or 3rd
  • May be required to stand long periods of time.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions.

Preferred Requirements of the Maintenance Manager:

  1. Three to five years' experience in automotive/industrial manufacturing with particular strengths in electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting
  2. Strong personal leadership, vision, organizational and communication abilities, technical and mechanical background desirable.
  3. Knowledgeable of customer product line and internal manufacturing processes to include all functions from raw materials to finished goods, as well as equipment and machinery.
  4. PLC programming, troubleshooting experience, robot experience
  5. Welding, electrical circuitry, mechanical machine repair.
  6. Minimum of a high school diploma/GED required or equivalent training and/or experience.
  7. Equivalent of an Industrial, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering Degree or Journeyman Certification a plus.
  8. Additional college-level courses in Engineering or any technical curriculum or the equivalent in experience and education.
