Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Maintenance & Facilities Manager in our Turners Falls, MA location. The Maintenance & Facilities Manager is responsible for the leadership, development, and execution of the company's maintenance and facilities functions, ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of site infrastructure and manufacturing assets.
Hiring Range: $106,709.14 - $146,725.73/ per year (exempt)
Job Duties
- Lead all maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Develop and execute reliability strategies supporting manufacturing performance and operational stability.
- Drive continuous improvement of equipment availability and maintenance effectiveness.
- Establish maintenance priorities aligned with business requirements and operational needs.
- Lead root-cause investigations related to equipment failures and recurring reliability issues.
- Serve as the organizational leader for Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Develop TPM systems and drive adoption throughout manufacturing operations.
- Partner with Manufacturing leadership to implement autonomous maintenance practices.
- Lead and develop a maintenance organization of approximately 20-25 employees.
- Directly manage maintenance supervisors and establish clear expectations and accountability.
- Serve as a core stakeholder in capital investment projects involving manufacturing equipment and facilities.
- Participate in equipment selection and technical evaluation activities
- Manage contractor activities associated with installation and commissioning.
- Develop and manage:
- Maintenance operating budget
- Facilities budget
- Contractor spending
- Spare parts inventory investment
- Ensure cost-effective utilization of maintenance resources while maintaining reliability objectives.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with all applicable safety and environmental requirements.
- Partner with EHS to eliminate hazards and improve workplace safety.
Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of a discipline such as Chemical, Electrical or in Materials Science & Engineering B.S degree-4-year college education.
- Over 5 years and up to and including 7 years of progressive learning experience.
- Ability to use considerable judgment to work independently toward general results, to devise new or modify requirements such as budget, equipment, etc. and make related decisions controlled by precedent.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Working conditions will expose employee to dust, cold, heat, noise, fumes, vibrations, etc.
