Work You'll DoSenior Consultants on the M&A Strategy & Diligence team support the development and testing of M&A strategies and deal theses. They are also responsible for:
- Developing approaches and frameworks to test deal hypotheses and generate insights that inform client recommendations
- Leading workstream delivery within due diligence and M&A strategy engagements, including presentation development, data analysis, and primary research
- Conducting financial analysis to identify performance drivers and value creation opportunities
- Supporting corporate and private equity clients across mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, and partnership decisions
- Contributing to practice development through eminence-building materials and point-of-view publications

The TeamM&A advises corporate and PE clients across inorganic growth/divestiture scenarios through M&A strategy, diligence, integration/separation planning and execution, financial and modeling services, and transaction financing.
Within M&A Consulting, the Transaction Strategy & Diligence team advises corporate and investor clients on strategic choices before, during, and after transactions. The team helps clients evaluate acquisition and divestiture opportunities, assess market and competitive dynamics, test investment theses, and identify value creation opportunities that support informed deal decisions. By combining strategic insight with transaction experience, the team helps clients move from deal ambition to execution with greater confidence.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of consulting or industry experience; or Master of Business Administration and 2+ years of consulting or industry experience
- 4+ years of mergers and acquisitions advisory or service delivery experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, or partnerships, including strategy, target screening, and commercial and/or operational diligence
- Experience delivering 5+ commercial due diligence and/or operational due diligence engagements
- Experience working with financial statements and complex financial models
- Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Preferred:
- Experience at a strategy consulting firm or a consulting firm focused on private equity or mergers and acquisitions strategy
- Experience developing presentation materials in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Experience supporting communications, culture, or change management workstreams in transaction environments
- Experience synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data into client-ready insights
- Experience mentoring junior practitioners or supporting staff development
- Advanced degree, including Master of Business Administration, Juris Doctor, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy, or master's degree
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $151,500 to $252,500.
