Full Job Description
The Multi-Location Manager manages all facets of multiple locations, each of which may consist of one or more business units. This includes, but is not limited to, coaching, budgeting, recruiting, and coordinating commodity buying functions. This manager is committed to continuous improvement and outstanding customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively manage and coach subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Develop key budgets and business plans for each location based upon local economic conditions.
  • Manage each location to accomplish or exceed key budget expectations.
  • Monitor the financial performance of each location and adjusts inventory and staffing levels as business conditions warrant.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the financial, human, and physical resources in order to optimize overall profitability; directs sales efforts and supports other operations.
  • Actively manage all aspects of human resources, including recruiting, training, benefits and compensation, safety, workers' compensation, equal employment and labor relations.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and training to supervisory personnel, and achieves goals and objectives set forth by the Company.
  • Assist subordinates in establishing goals and conducts performance reviews.
  • Maintain harmony and resolves grievances.
  • Direct the sales effort and earning forecasting in the operations within the field, yard, warehouse and administration.
  • Manage or direct all credit functions in coordination with credit managers.
  • Study procedures to improve efficiency of operation; initiate cost reduction programs.
  • Ensure adherence to internal control procedures.
  • Coordinate and/or performs majority of the commodity buying functions.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.
  • Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.
  • Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.
  • Open and responsive to change.
  • Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Company's safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages subordinate supervisors/managers who supervise/manage various departments. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • At least 8 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of industry, local building codes, accounting, inside and outside sales, and general management.

COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
  • Ability to write reports, memos, and correspondence.
  • Excellent Excel skills (mathematical-related tasks).
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Thorough knowledge of products and operation.
  • Requires use of tact to avoid conflict in carrying out assignments, as well as exercising continuous judgment.
  • Management skills are paramount.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and work under stress.
