Lumber and Millwork Buyer We have an opportunity for a seasoned buyer to join our purchasing team. Primary product lines include molding, hardwood lumber and finish lumber. This is a management level position that oversees all facets of these product lines. Responsibilities include:
- Sourcing and Procurement - Evaluate, utilize and manage suppliers that will profitably support our programs.
- Inventory Management - Manage stock levels that allow for high fill rates, strong metrics and provide optimum buying volume.
- Market Analysis - Expert in market trends with respect to product category responsibility.
- Pricing - Establish and maintain pricing strategy that optimizes gross profit and competitive selling price.
- Marketing - Manage advertising and promotions related to product categories.
Preferred Qualifications - Five + years in lumber purchasing or equivalent experience.
- Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and use of ERP or purchasing software system.
- Proven record of setting goals and achieving results
- Commitment to a sales driven culture
