Raytheon's Land Air Defense Systems (LADS) Office of the Chief Engineer is seeking a skilled and motivated Product Level Chief Engineer for the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) Portfolio. LTAMDS is a Raytheon Technologies franchise program that delivers the next generation radar with 360-degree visibility to defeat advanced threats including hypersonic weapons. The LTAMDS Product CE is directly responsible for the LTAMDS product and its variants, including Ghost Eye and other Support Equipment Major End Items (MEIs). The scope of this role spans development, production, sustainment, and international portfolios. This position partners closely with the portfolio team to manage the technical baseline and ensure commonality across products. The CE oversees technical execution for all U.S. and international contracts within the portfolio. They chair the Change Control Board (CCB) and maintain configuration and design control for all products and variants. They are accountable for overall product performance and coordinate closely with the portfolio CEs on technical execution. The CE also serves as the first escalation path for portfolio CEs, driving technical issues to closure. This role collaborates with the Sub Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) CE on technical strategy and roadmap implementation and serves as the primary technical point of contact for the customer. This is an on-site position, located in Tewksbury, MA.

What You Will Do

  • Support new business capture and influence technical and product line roadmaps to guide program planning and execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement through active participation in Failure Review Boards, FRACAS, and engagement with major subcontractors and partners to ensure product deliverables.
  • Lead and direct a multi-discipline engineering team to resolve issues and support execution; domestic travel up to 25% required.
  • Must be willing to travel in support of program activities both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Deep technical experience with radars, radar components, and radar subsystems, including formal Technical Data Package (TDP) release.
  • Demonstrated leadership in designing and developing complex system architectures across the full product lifecycle, from concept through production.
  • Strong ability to influence and collaborate with DoD, commercial, and non-traditional customers; proven track record of building effective external relationships.
  • Expertise in Engineering Risk and Opportunity (R&O) management and providing technical advisory input for Export/Import (EXIM) decisions.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline, with excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
