Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications: AHS Rockyview Operating Room will provide specialty Perioperative training. Commitment to a comprehensive 12-week training program, in-class/online theory learning, 60 hours of labs, 380 hours of clinical practicums. followed by a full-time orientation is required. This temporary position is built upon three phases: Phase 1 - online theory education/on-site instruction Phase 2 - 8 days in-person lab (Grant MacEwan). Phase 3 - Clinical on-site (Rockyview) practicum of 380 hours or as determined by proof of competency. Ability to wear lead apron radiograph protection and any personal protective equipment (PPE) for an extended period of time. Ability to stand scrubbed for hours to support the surgical team.
