Summary

You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist of MARCORSYSCOM.

Duties

Help

  • You will conduct supportability assessments to evaluate system maturity, establish logistics performance measures, define expectations in transition agreements, and support development of strategies and timely capability fielding decisions.
  • You will develop and refine logistics plans, contribute to sustainment cost estimates, and recommend risk reduction activities for technology development efforts to ensure smooth transition from prototype systems to operational use.
  • You will coordinate logistics data availability, integrate inputs from multiple program offices and stakeholders, and support development of acquisition approaches and transition plans that enable efficient and well-informed decision making.
  • You will assess commodity specific product support requirements, identify risks, and implement corrective actions while overseeing improvements that enhance overall system supportability and long term operational performance.
  • You will develop logistics processes, tools, and training, apply industry best practices, and evaluate their relevance to improve support strategies and strengthen program effectiveness across multiple commodity areas.
  • You will represent logistics interests on cross organizational boards and working groups, deliver clear briefings to leadership, and ensure alignment of support requirements with acquisition strategies and contracting approaches.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assess system supports readiness, define logistics performance measures, support transition planning agreements, contribute to life cycle cost estimates, reduce risk, AND/OR coordinate stakeholders to enable rapid capability delivery.
