Responsibilities

  • Track critical materials, equipment, long-lead items, and resource constraints affecting repair schedules.
  • Support debris removal, material handling, temporary protection, site cleanup, and restoration activities.
  • Provide daily logistics status, resource forecasts, and emerging constraints to CMS leadership.

Description

The Logistics Lead manages the rapid deployment and sustainment of personnel, equipment, materials, vehicles, tools, and other resources required to execute post-Hurricane Lowell facilities repair and recovery activities across Kauaʻi. The position serves as the central logistics coordinator between the CMS hub, field repair teams, Government representatives, contractors, vendors, and local support resources.

Responsibilities
  • Lead logistics planning and execution for rapid facilities damage assessment, stabilization, repair, and recovery.
  • Mobilize and sustain repair crews, specialty trades, equipment, vehicles, tools, materials, and supplies across multiple locations.
  • Establish staging, laydown, storage, and distribution points to support geographically dispersed repair activities.
  • Coordinate emergency procurement, local sourcing, material deliveries, equipment rentals, and transportation.
  • Track critical materials, equipment, long-lead items, and resource constraints affecting repair schedules.
  • Coordinate movement and accountability of vehicles, heavy equipment, tools, generators, pumps, temporary facilities, and other recovery assets.
  • Support debris removal, material handling, temporary protection, site cleanup, and restoration activities.
  • Coordinate logistics requirements for utilities, electrical systems, HVAC, roofing, plumbing, structural repairs, and other facility restoration activities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and accountability of Government, contractor, and CMS-provided resources.
  • Coordinate daily logistics requirements with Construction Managers, Project Managers, SSHO, QC, subcontractors, vendors, and Government personnel.
  • Identify supply-chain, transportation, weather, access, and resource risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Provide daily logistics status, resource forecasts, and emerging constraints to CMS leadership.
  • Support rapid mobilization and demobilization as facilities transition from emergency stabilization to permanent repair.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting DoD, NAVFAC, USACE, or military installations preferred.
  • Hurricane, disaster recovery, emergency management, or facilities restoration experience preferred.
  • Experience with heavy equipment, temporary power, dewatering, debris operations, construction materials, and specialty trades preferred.
  • 8+ years of logistics, facilities, construction, emergency response, or disaster-recovery experience.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating personnel, equipment, materials, transportation, and vendors in field operations.
  • Experience supporting multiple simultaneous work locations.
  • Strong ability to operate in rapidly changing, emergency, and resource-constrained environments.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
