Overview

The Logistics Engineer provides integrated logistics support for complex technical programs, with responsibility for developing and implementing material management approaches, supporting DMSMS and spare parts analysis processes, and contributing to the development of technical manuals and support documentation. This position works across engineering, supply chain, maintenance, configuration management, quality, and program management teams to ensure systems are supportable, sustainable, and properly documented throughout the lifecycle. The Logistics Engineer supports planning and execution of logistics engineering activities related to provisioning, sparing, obsolescence management, maintainability, technical data, and lifecycle sustainment in order to improve operational readiness, availability, and total ownership cost performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support logistics engineering strategies and plans for complex systems and programs.
  • Build and maintain a material management program to support procurement, inventory control, provisioning, replenishment, repair, and lifecycle sustainment needs.
  • Perform and support DMSMS analyses to identify obsolescence risks, supply chain issues, and part availability concerns and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct spare parts analyses to determine initial provisioning, replenishment requirements, stockage levels, and lifecycle support needs.
  • Support development and maintenance of logistics support data, provisioning data, and sustainment documentation.
  • Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, maintenance, configuration management, and program leadership to align logistics planning with technical and operational requirements.
  • Support development, review, and update of technical manuals, maintenance documentation, illustrated parts breakdowns, and related technical publications.
  • Analyze supportability, maintainability, and sustainment requirements for new or modified systems.
  • Support lifecycle logistics planning for fielding, deployment, operations, maintenance, and sustainment.
  • Participate in logistics planning, technical reviews, supportability assessments, readiness reviews, and customer meetings.
  • Develop logistics metrics, reports, and recommendations to support readiness, availability, and cost management objectives.
  • Support configuration changes, engineering changes, and product updates to ensure logistics products and support documentation remain current.
  • Identify logistics risks, support gaps, and material shortfalls and develop corrective action recommendations.
  • Support audits, data calls, provisioning conferences, and logistics reviews as required.

THIS HYBRID POSITION REQUIRES 3 DAYS OF WORK IN THE OFFICE AND 2 DAYS REMOTE PER WEEK

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in logistics engineering, integrated logistics support, sustainment planning, or product support.
  • Experience developing or supporting material management programs for complex technical systems.
  • Experience performing DMSMS analysis and spare parts analysis.
  • Understanding of technical manual development processes and lifecycle support documentation.
  • Familiarity with provisioning, maintenance concepts, supportability analysis, and configuration management.
  • Ability to analyze technical and logistical data and develop practical sustainment recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering, supply chain, maintenance, and program teams.


Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $82,100.00/Yr. - USD $137,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
