Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Frontline Leader to join our lumber manufacturing facility in Longview, Washington. As the Log Yard Supervisor, you will provide leadership for safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence while overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Log Yard and supporting a team of hourly employees. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the log yard; driving continuous improvement; fostering employee development; and maintaining a strong culture of accountability and teamwork.
This role also serves as the Process Owner for the Merchandiser and Log Yard operations (Group A), providing leadership across day and swing shifts, ensuring equipment readiness, inventory accuracy, employee performance, and strong coordination with Mill Operations, Timberlands, and Maintenance. The position plays a critical role in improving communication, training, machine reliability, and overall mill performance. This salaried role reports to the Sawmill Operations Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development for a team of union electricians and apprentices.
- Championing a strong safety culture by ensuring safe work practices, hazard identification, risk assessment, and compliance with site standards.
- Support mill reliability by driving effective maintenance execution, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and defect elimination.
- Partner with Operations, Reliability, Planning, and Engineering teams to improve equipment performance and availability.
- Establish and reinforce standards for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, work quality, and communication between crews and shifts.
- Lead training and workforce development efforts to build technical capability and succession strength within the electrical organization.
- Support planning and scheduling processes to ensure maintenance resources are aligned with business priorities.
- Utilize SAP CMMS, maintenance metrics, and reliability tools to prioritize work and improve overall effectiveness.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement while fostering positive labor-management relationships.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Business, Maintenance, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three years of leadership experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and understanding of OSHA requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in log yard, wood products, sawmill, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience leading an hourly workforce in a union environment.
- Five or more years of leadership experience.
- Experience with UKG.

What We Offer...Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $69,000 - $104,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
