Pay Range: $33.87 - $45.16
The Loan Documentation Quality Specialist is responsible for overseeing the quality, accuracy, completeness, and compliance of loan documentation throughout the commercial loan closing process. Conducts the pre-review of attorney-prepared commercial loan documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approved credit terms, Bank policy, system capabilities, and regulatory requirements, while effectively managing operational and legal risk. This role serves as the primary liaison with external attorneys, internal general counsel and Commercial & Credit Administration teams to resolve documentation discrepancies, review corrected documents, and ensure all requirements are satisfied prior to loan closing.
Prepares and analyzes reports, monitors compliance with internal standards and regulatory expectations, and partners with internal stakeholders to support efficient loan closings, maintain quality standards, identify recurring issues, influence best practices and maintain consistency.
Activities directly impact customer accounts, bank reporting, and risk mitigation. Responsible for managing bank approved attorneys and the development and maintenance of standardized legal language for approved external counsel. Lead development and testing enhancements and upgrades to documentation and origination systems providing guidance to all levels of employees.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Loan Documentation, Commercial Loan Administration, Loan Processing, Quality Control, or related commercial lending environment preferred.
- Legal or Paralegal experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Credit experience, with Credit Policy knowledge desirable.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to review and interpret complex commercial loan documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with attorneys and internal business partners.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality control focus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with LaserPro, nCino, Nautilus, FiServ, or similar commercial lending and documentation systems preferred. Knowledge of UCC and Mortgage filing and satisfaction requirements

Tasks Performed:
- 50% - Conduct detailed pre-reviews of all attorney-prepared commercial loan documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance with credit approval, commitment terms, Bank policy, and regulatory requirements. Analyze documentation for discrepancies, omissions, inconsistencies, or exceptions and document findings.
- 30% - Serve as the primary point of contact with external attorneys regarding document issues. Communicate identified discrepancies and required corrections, monitor outstanding items, and facilitate timely resolution of documentation concerns. Review all corrected and revised documentation received from attorneys to verify requested changes have been properly incorporated, and confirming final documentation accurately reflects approved loan structure and meets quality, legal, and compliance standards prior to execution.
- 10% - Identify recurring documentation issues, generate quality control reporting, and provide recommendations for process improvements in collaboration with Legal Counsel, Relationship Managers, Commercial Loan Administrators, and Credit Administration. Support training initiatives, with Team Members and business partners.
- 5% - Maintain advanced knowledge of and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position. Adhere to policies, procedures, and internal controls. Ongoing focus on risk and fraud mitigation.
- 5% - Other duties as assigned.
