Position OverviewEnnoble First is seeking a Linux and Ansible Automation Engineer to support the development of scalable automation frameworks and infrastructure solutions within a mission-critical environment. In this role, you will develop automation capabilities, establish best practices, and improve operational efficiency through configuration management, system monitoring, and infrastructure automation. You will collaborate closely with mission partners and stakeholders to identify automation opportunities that reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and strengthen enterprise Linux environments.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop automation frameworks and establish best practices for scalable infrastructure management.
- Provide insight into Linux environments through automated monitoring, system hardening, configuration management, and performance optimization.
- Work closely with mission partners and stakeholders to understand current operational challenges and translate them into automation solutions.
- Develop automation capabilities that reduce manual effort and operational risk while supporting long-term infrastructure architecture.
- Identify opportunities where automation can provide immediate operational value while supporting future growth.
- Develop repeatable automation methodologies and communicate their value to technical leadership.
Required Qualifications- 10+ years of experience administering Linux-based environments such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Experience managing configuration at scale using Ansible, including enforcing consistent system state across large inventories, detecting and correcting configuration drift, and writing idempotent playbooks.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Salt, Puppet, or Chef.
- Experience with Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience managing systems within U.S. federal government or DoD enterprise IT environments, including security compliance and vulnerability management frameworks such as STIG, RMF, or NIST.
- Associate's degree and 5+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, or Master's degree and 1+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities.
- Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, or CND Certification within 30 days of start date.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with VMware vSphere administration and managing virtual machines.
- Experience in Kubernetes, container platform operations, cluster lifecycle management, and workload orchestration.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with NetApp storage solutions and designing or maintaining enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of version control concepts and Git.
Pay Range$130,000-$160,000The Ennoble First pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
