Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a
Licensed Fire Sprinkler Inspector to our
Auburn, ME team. In this role, you will perform regular inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on fire sprinkler systems across commercial, industrial, and residential properties, ensuring each customer receives reliable, code-compliant life safety service. Success in this role requires strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems, exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to NFPA standards, and a customer-first approach to every interaction.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure customers are serviced at the highest level of satisfaction through quality, courteous service.
- Complete inspections in a timely manner and ensure customers receive the work per the proposed scope.
- Utilize an online scheduling calendar to receive scheduled tasks and customer locations, and maintain other company documents including timesheets and safety audits.
- Maintain positive customer relationships and review inspection results with each customer at the conclusion of the visit.
- Turn in required paperwork in a timely manner upon completion of each work order.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and company vehicle in good working order.
- Study and learn NFPA standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
- Stay current with code requirements and industry changes, and pursue NICET certifications.
- Complete in-house and manufacturer training programs on fire protection system inspections.
- Obtain OSHA 10 certification through the company safety program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the department manager.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler inspection, testing, maintenance, and installation required.
- Current Maine State Sprinkler Inspector's License required.
- Current backflow device tester certification highly preferred.
- Valid state driver's license required.
- Good verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision after the training period is completed.
- Mechanical and math aptitude.
- Exceptional computer skills.
- Professional and organized.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:- Industrial, commercial, and residential building environments with moderate to high noise levels.
- Comfort with working at heights as required.
- Primarily a physically demanding role; the majority of daily activity involves standing and walking through buildings and stairs, with some ladder work required.
- May need to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Travel to multiple job sites in a single day; occasional overnight travel may be required with advance notice.
- Consistent use of phone and computer throughout the workday.
The wage for this role starts at
$40.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
