We are currently hiring for an Electrician to join our Operations team at 600 Clarke Road, London [redacted]). This position is on a rotating shift.
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and automated manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This role supports production by diagnosing electrical and control system issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and implementing equipment improvements to maximize uptime and productivity. The Industrial Electrician works with motors, drives, PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems while ensuring compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies. Through technical expertise and a proactive approach to maintenance, this position contributes to operational excellence, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with food safety, GMP, quality, and workplace safety standards
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and industrial equipment, including motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, control panels, and automated production machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and control system failures to minimize equipment downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment to improve reliability, safety, and operational performance.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals to complete repairs, modifications, and installations.
- Install, test, calibrate, and commission electrical equipment and control systems, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment performance, energy efficiency, and production processes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation, including work orders, equipment history, inspections, and spare parts requirements.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, GMP requirements, and company policies, while promoting a safe and reliable work environment.
Qualifications:
- Post Secondary Diploma
- 442A trade license and certificate of Apprenticeship
- 3-4 years of on-the-job experience, preferable in food industry
- Effective communication skills
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base pay for this position is $42.00 - $45.00 per hour + $1.00 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift and a $1.50 per hour shift differential for 3rd shift. Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick's Dividend Program.
