Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Renton Liaison Engineering Team
  • Coordinate Liaison Engineering support for production
  • Contain and resolve shop floor issues with corrective actions
  • Communicate project status updates to stakeholders
  • Anticipate production challenges through review of upcoming builds
  • Monitor PLR database and manage workload distribution
  • Support prototype and pilot trials with constructive feedback
  • Facilitate resolution of PQI engineering issues
  • Review supplier quality questions and initiate engineering deviations
  • Champion continuous improvement projects within Liaison Engineering
  • Manage staffing and training development of the team

Full Job Description
Requisition Summary

Provide leadership to the Renton Liaison Engineering Team, including supervision and work distribution.

Job Functions/Responsibilities
• Coordinates Liaison Engineering support for Production, interfacing with internal and external departments and divisions to resolve immediate design/build questions
• Ensures containment of identified shop floor issues pending permanent corrective action; implements corrective actions where appropriate
• Communicates issue and/or project status updates to stakeholders in various levels of the PACCAR organization
• Reviews upcoming builds to anticipate and mitigate potential production challenges
• Monitors PLR database, prioritizes issues, and distributes workload
• Communicates with Division engineering to coordinate issue resolution; participates in development of long term design solutions to identified issues
• Supports Division prototype and pilot trials and provides constructive feedback
• Facilitates resolution of engineering related PQI issues
• Reviews supplier quality questions on PPAP sample submissions; initiates engineering deviations, as appropriate
• Leads continuous improvement initiatives within Liaison Engineering, champions Six Sigma projects
• Evaluates requests for deviation from Engineering standards
• Manages staffing, and training and development of Liaison Engineering Team

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required; Engineering strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability gained through 5+ years progressively important engineering assignments
• High level of initiative and demonstrated use of proactive problem solving approach
• Excellent communication and team building skills
• Must be able to work with a diverse set of stakeholders and manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies, training and experience in use of Six Sigma tools
• Desired working knowledge with PCMS, CMS-80, Creo/Windchill, PLR/FRACAS

Additional Information

The salary range for this role is $90,400-$129,100 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
