Position Summary:
This Legal Operations Manager will be primarily responsible for supporting all aspects of contracting activities as well as patent administrative matters at Structure. This position will also draft, review and finalize standard contracts and contract amendments in consultation with attorneys and other members of the contract management team. This position will be responsible for updating contract templates and maintaining our contract database. This position will also assist the legal team in obtaining and managing legal records. This position will report to Senior Vice President, Legal.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as an escalation point of contact for internal and external contract process/status questions and more complex contract negotiations.
- Manage contract workflow and work with cross departmental liaisons to ensure efficient contract execution.
- Draft, review and manage certain business contracts, which may include confidentiality agreements, SOWs, consulting and service agreements, and various vendor services agreements with supervision from attorneys.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and in-house legal team to obtain legal documents, g., patent declarations and assignments; and manage legal records. Ensure accuracy, correct signature sequence etc.
- Upkeep of patent portfolio database (bibliographic data in Excel spreadsheet)
- IP file management (SharePoint, Box)
- Submit procurement requests (PO) for Legal department
Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in related discipline with a minimum of five years of related experience; candidates with advanced business or law degree and five or more years of experience preferred.
- Paralegal certification (contracts and/or patent) preferred.
- In-house experience at a biotechnology, pharmaceutical or life science company preferred, with a focus on contract management
- Experience working with attorneys and senior leaders
- Good understanding of contract terms and structure, contract management processes, including tracking, negotiation, approval and execution.
- Good understanding of patents, the patent application process, and related formalities.
- Ability to work both independently and effectively across a variety of functional groups (such as Commercial, Research and Development, CMC, Human Resources, Finance, Facilities and IT) and all levels of management.
- Flexible and willing to learn new procedures and skill sets.
- Experience with or knowledge of paralegal support tasks, with a focus on intellectual property matters or corporate matters, preferred. Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills
- English and Chinese bilingual skills preferred.

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $115,000 - $135,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geography, qualifications, skills, and experience.
At Structure, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
