About The Role:

Draganfly Innovations Inc. is seeking an experienced In-House Counsel with 3-5 years of post-call experience to join our growing legal team. This role will partner across the business to provide practical legal guidance on commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and emerging technology matters. The successful candidate will be a hands-on practitioner who thrives in a dynamic, multi-jurisdictional environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, supplier and reseller agreements, NDAs, licensing, and government contracts
  • Advise on regulatory compliance matters relevant to UAV operations, including aviation, export controls (ITAR/EAR, CGP), data privacy (PIPEDA, GDPR), and product compliance
  • Support corporate governance, including board and committee materials, securities filings, and subsidiary management
  • Provide counsel on intellectual property strategy, including protection, licensing, and enforcement
  • Manage and triage litigation, disputes, and pre-litigation matters in coordination with external counsel
  • Partner with Sales, Procurement, HR, Finance, and Product teams to provide pragmatic, business-aligned legal advice
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and internal policies
  • Manage external counsel relationships and legal spend

Qualifications:
  • LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Called to the Bar in Canada (Saskatchewan, Ontario, or BC preferred) or the United Star; good standing required
  • 3-5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally with a mix of top-tier law firm and in-house experience
  • Strong commercial contracting background
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight timelines


Nice to Have:

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, technology, or other regulated industries
  • Familiarity with U.S. and international export control regimes
  • Experience supporting a publicly traded company (TSX and/or Nasdaq)
  • Working knowledge of IP, privacy, and employment law fundamentals


Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel.


Compensation Package:
  • Competitive salary: $110,000 - $150,000 CAD
