Business Unit Overview:
Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing (“BXMA”), the world’s largest discretionary allocator to hedge funds, manages approximately $101 billion in assets under management. BXMA invests across asset classes in both public and private markets, including (i) Absolute Return which manages a broad range of commingled and customized portfolios and seeks to generate consistent returns across market environments; (ii) Multi-Strategy, which seeks to generate strong risk-adjusted returns through opportunistic, asset-class agnostic investing; and (iii) Total Portfolio Management, which manages large-scale total portfolios across asset classes in both public and private markets. Job Description:
The Assistant Vice President will work on a variety of compliance related matters pertaining to private investing, open market trading and information flow management. Primary job responsibilities include:
Assisting from a compliance perspective with the intake of new direct and indirect investing opportunities for BXMA’s private commingled funds and accounts, including coordination with external investment partners, the BXMA investment teams and other parts of Blackstone
Serve as point of contact for potential investment targets and partners to facilitate investment diligence by the BXMA investment teams
Draft, implement and maintain policies and procedures to adapt to new product needs and strategies
Perform trade compliance functions and assist in maintaining BXMA’s restricted list
Coordinate with legal and compliance teams across the firm to assist with firm-wide conflict clearances and related processes
Manage and document the flow of confidential investment information into and out of BXMA in furtherance of Blackstone’s information wall policies and procedures
Exposure to AI-enabled productivity tools or workflow automation platforms.
Experience testing or improving operational processes through AI solutions.
Qualifications:
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate would be a part of a highly collaborative Legal and Compliance team and would interact closely with the firm’s investment teams. More specifically, the successful candidate should have:
4+ years of experience at an asset manager, hedge fund, investment adviser or other financial services organization that engages in private and open market trading.
J.D. is a plus but not required
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a confident and effective communication style across a range of audiences.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills
Work independently while remaining a strong team player who works collaboratively and builds strong working relationships.
Proactive time management and skilled at managing projects independently and to conclusion.
Substantial initiative, creativity and drive to implement a measured approach under competing demands.
Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar platforms) and skilled to use them responsibly to improve efficiency in compliance workflows, research, and documentation
Experience using technology or automation tools to streamline processes, organize data, or improve reporting and monitoring activities.

Expected annual base salary range:
$135,000 - $200,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the roleconsist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
