  • 40 hours/week, 6 Month Assignment

A leading digital streaming network seeks a Legal Billing Specialist to support legal and finance operations by managing outside counsel invoicing, vendor administration, billing compliance, and financial reporting. This role is responsible for overseeing the full invoice lifecycle, ensuring timely payment processing, maintaining billing accuracy, supporting law firm onboarding, and driving process improvements within a fast-paced corporate legal environment.

Legal Billing Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Review, audit, route, approve, adjust, or reject high volumes of outside counsel invoices in accordance with legal billing guidelines, while managing invoice aging, accruals, work-in-progress records, and end-to-end invoice lifecycle activities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between outside counsel, attorneys, accounts payable teams, billing system vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues, troubleshoot system and payment concerns, enforce compliance with billing guidelines, and ensure timely payment processing.
  • Support vendor onboarding and setup processes, coordinate manual invoice entries, research and resolve open items within SAP, assist with law firm onboarding activities, and provide training and support to internal and external system users.
  • Generate ad hoc reports, reconcile billing data, aggregate and manipulate large datasets in Excel, present findings to management, and identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and data cleanup initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects, team meetings, process improvement efforts, and additional finance and legal operations activities as needed.

Legal Billing Specialist Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of legal billing, e-billing, or related billing operations experience.
  • Strong understanding of the complete invoice lifecycle, including work in progress, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, and payment processing.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (pivot tables, filtering, reporting, and data analysis) and Outlook.
  • Experience working within a law firm, legal department, or professional services organization supporting multiple stakeholders and locations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, vendors, finance teams, and senior leadership.

Shift:
  • 7:00 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
