Full Job Description
We are seeking a Legal Assistant in Denver, Colorado. In this role, you will provide lead administrative support for our U.S. legal office, including document drafting and review, providing attorney support, managing digital and physical files, and managing invoicing and payment processes. This role entails multi-tasking, and requires exceptional communication, inter-personal skills, writing skills, collaboration, and teamwork, often in a time-sensitive environment. Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000 annually and an annual incentive program Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Benefits/perks listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Suncor and the region where you work. • Compensation: Annual incentive bonus program with a 20% target, 401(k) plan with up to a 6% vested match, pre-tax, Roth, and post-tax options, an automatic 1.5% profit sharing contribution, and Suncor-funded cash balance defined benefit pension plan (vests in 3 years) • Benefits: Competitive and flexible employee benefits package that can be adjusted to suit the changing needs of your life, including: 3 medical options (including HSA and FSA options), 2 dental options, vision coverage, and an Employee Assistance Plan • Generous time-off: Vacation program (based on credited prior experience) as well as 12 additional personal paid time off days annually • Talent development programs: Internal mobility, succession planning, and employee training and development programs are just a few ways we're dedicated to your development Minimum Requirements: • Five years of experience as a legal assistant in large firm private practice or an in-house environment, preferably in corporate, transactional, or litigation practices • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills • High integrity, positive attitude, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment • Exceptional skills in drafting, reviewing, and revising correspondence and basic documents • High proficiency with digital tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of SAP, Workday, Concur and CounselLink • High degree of flexibility, agility, and the ability to readily adapt to changes in Suncor's business priorities and plans • Ability to exercise considerable discretion and judgement, including in dealing with confidential information Don't have all the qualifications listed? Responsibilities: • Act as primary administrative point of contact for U.S. legal function • Maintain and coordinate file and records management • Draft, review, revise, and finalize correspondence, form agreements, corporate governance documents (e.g., minutes), and certain filings • Coordinating mail, courier services, and receipt of notice of filings/service through CT corp., including lawsuits • Manage attorney calendars, meeting scheduling and logistics, deadline scheduling, and travel • Manage legal and billing software vendors, including CounselLink and LexisNexis • Track historical legal vendor information, rates, discounts; conduct related analysis • Assist with the development and management of legal budget, as well as prepare and submit expense reports, monthly and quarterly reports • Support surety bonds, UCC filings, and related processes • Assist with hearing and trial preparation and special projects, such as litigation, transactional matters, and document productions Location and other Key Details: • You will work out of our Refinery Business Center building (LEED Silver), built in 2010, located in Commerce City, CO, adjacent to Denver • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs • The application deadline for this position is June 4, 2026, however if you are interested please apply now • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work • In alignment with Suncor's value of Safety Above All Else, we conduct pre-employment drug testing, employment verification, education verification, background checks, and other pre-employment assessments as a condition of employment Think we are a fit?
