Full Job Description

LearnVantage Software Sales Account Executive - Academia

You Are:

A high-impact Account Executive with deep experience selling into higher education institutions — from research universities and four-year colleges to community college systems and state consortia. You combine strategic vision with relentless execution, and you are energized by the challenge of navigating complex, multi-stakeholder academic procurement processes and positioning LearnVantage as a trusted partner in institutional AI readiness. You bring strong commercial instincts, a consultative approach, and the presence to engage Provosts, Deans, CIOs, and VPs of Academic Affairs with credibility and conviction.

The Work:

  • Prospect, qualify, and develop a self-sourced pipeline across universities, four-year colleges, and community colleges with no prior LearnVantage relationship.

  • Conduct discovery and solution presentations with academic leadership stakeholders — Provosts, Deans, CIOs, Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs, Directors of Workforce Development, and CFOs.

  • Close new academic accounts and partnerships to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual bookings targets.

  • Identify and engage multi-campus university systems, statewide community college systems, and academic consortia where a single LearnVantage agreement can scale across dozens of institutions.

  • Partner with Accenture's Higher Education and Public Service account teams to attach LearnVantage workforce and curriculum solutions to broader transformation engagements.

  • Match the right portfolio solution to each institution's goals — LearnVantage AI programs for student-facing AI pathways, Award Solutions for applied technology programs, or Ascendient Learning for faculty upskilling and IT staff certification.

  • Identify and pursue grant-funded and government-subsidized workforce training opportunities including Perkins Act funding, WIOA grants, and state workforce development funds.

  • Demonstrate ROI in academic terms — connecting LearnVantage programs to student job placement rates, employer satisfaction, faculty teaching effectiveness, and institutional accreditation outcomes.

  • Serve as a feedback loop between academic clients and LearnVantage's curriculum, product, and content teams, surfacing emerging institutional skill gaps and student workforce readiness needs.

Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 25% to 50% depending on business need and client requirements.

Here's What You Need:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, account management, sales leadership, or new logo acquisition in a consulting, technology, or professional services environment.

  • Demonstrated track record of originating and closing significant net new business in mid-market or multi-subsidiary environments, preferably $500K+ ARR deals or more

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 8 years) work experience.

Bonus Points If:

  • You have experience selling into or through state university systems, community college districts, or academic consortia.

  • You are familiar with higher education funding mechanisms — Title IV, Perkins Act, WIOA workforce grants, state appropriations, and corporate partnership models.

  • You have understanding of academic workforce development trends including micro-credentialing, stackable credentials, employer-aligned curriculum, and AI literacy mandates.

  • You are familiar with any LearnVantage solution area — AI/ML (Udacity), advanced wireless and 5G (Award Solutions), or instructor-led IT certification (Ascendient).

  • You have a genuine passion for the role of AI and technology education in preparing the next generation of the workforce.

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and the ability to present persuasively to academic audiences at all levels.
