Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Development, Research, the Learning & Development Lead, Clinical Skills leads the development of clinical competencies and workplace skills across CapitalCare. The Learning & Development (L&D) Lead, Clinical Skills designs, implements, and supports competency-based learning programs that strengthen staff capability, promote practice excellence and support high-quality, person-centred care. As an organizational resource, the L&D Lead, Clinical skills provides consultation, mentorship, instructional design expertise, and training leadership to staff including operational, clinical, and practice leaders.
Key priorities include:
1. Leads clinical competency and workplace skills development across the organization.
2. Supports practice excellence, evidence-based care, and continuous improvement.
3. Provides mentorship and leadership in evidence-informed instructional design, training delivery, and workforce development.
4. Advances technology-enabled learning and evidence-informed approaches to staff development.
Qualifications:
Education
A Baccalaureate Degree in nursing.
Formal training in education, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
Registration in an appropriate professional association, if applicable.
Experience
A minimum of five years of nursing experience is required. Preference will be given to experience with continuing care, community, and specialty programs.
Thorough knowledge of educational technology (including use of rapid authoring tools, learning management systems, and online meeting platforms to support synchronous online learning).
Experience working within a person-centred care philosophy.
A demonstrated ability in leadership and teaching, specifically in adult or workplace learning.
Practical experience in knowledge and skill translation.
Intermediate to advanced skill in Microsoft Office applications.
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required for travel between centres.
