Using performance consulting, adult learning principles, instructional design methods, and learning technologies, the Learning Design Lead helps align learning solutions to business priorities, workforce capability needs, and measurable outcomes.

The Learning Design Lead is a senior individual contributor who applies learning strategy, instructional design, stakeholder consultation, and project execution skills to build learning solutions that enable technical and professional skill development for Tech associates. You will operate with autonomy to clarify ambiguous needs, define desired performance outcomes, recommend appropriate learning and non-learning solutions, manage stakeholder alignment, and lead work from discovery through implementation and measurement.

  • Design and deliver engaging, learner-centered experiences across modalities, including instructor-led training, virtual learning, eLearning, microlearning, job aids, performance support, and blended learning solutions.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, role-relevant learning experiences by partnering with subject matter experts to validate accuracy, prioritize critical tasks, and focus learning on what associates need to do on the job.
  • Use consultative skills and influence without direct authority to build solution-focused partnerships with Tech leaders, SMEs, instructional designers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Define learning success measures and evaluate outcomes using learner feedback, assessments, behavior indicators, performance data, and relevant business metrics.
  • Configure, test, and maintain learning assets in a learning management system or comparable learning platform to support accurate deployment, access, tracking, and reporting.
  • Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate analysis, content development, personalization, workflow efficiency, and quality review while applying sound judgment, governance, and human validation.
  • Partner with Associate Director to develop, refine, and prioritize the skilling roadmap, aligning future skills training with Tech needs.
  • Partner with Associate Director to provide consulting on incoming learning requests for Tech colleagues.
  • Contribute to departmental learning strategy by making recommendations, solving moderately complex to complex problems, and independently advancing work with limited direction.
  • Communicate progress, risks, insights, decisions, and outcomes clearly to leaders and non-executive stakeholders.
  • Provide LMS support as needed for the team and, as availability allows, the Tech org.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Key Skills and Capabilities

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, role-relevant learning experiences
  • Instructional design for technical and professional skill development
  • Learning experience design across ILT, VILT, eLearning, microlearning, and performance support
