Lean Leader - Lean Academy
This role is central to embedding a strong Lean culture across the terminal by ensuring leaders and frontline teams apply standardized work, structured problem-solving, and continuous improvement in daily operations.
As a Lean Partner – Lean Academy, you will turn Lean principles into practical actions that drive consistency, reduce variability, and strengthen problem-solving across the business. The focus goes beyond training, ensuring Lean is fully integrated into how the operation runs every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and sustain the Lean Academy training system, ensuring alignment with business priorities and practical application in operations.
- Drive the consistent use of Lean methodologies at Gemba, including A3 problem-solving, Kaizen, and standard work.
- Develop Job Experts (JE) in key areas to support standardized work, onboarding, and first-level problem-solving.
- Lead the Lean Campus as a dynamic environment for training, simulations, and continuous improvement.
- Execute Kaizen initiatives aligned with business goals, ensuring measurable operational impact.
- Embed structured problem-solving across teams to reduce recurring issues and improve resolution.
- Influence and support leaders in adopting Lean behaviors, including Gemba presence and daily management practices.
- Ensure capability-building efforts translate into improved performance, productivity, and waste reduction.
- Track and validate the impact of Lean initiatives, including operational and financial outcomes.
- Identify and remove barriers to enable effective Lean deployment and continuous improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics, or a related field
- 4–6 years of experience in Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Operations
- Proven hands-on experience applying Lean methodologies (A3, Kaizen, Standard Work, 5S) in operational environments
- Strong ability to drive execution, lead Kaizen initiatives, and sustain improvements
- Solid understanding of process flow, variability, and waste reduction
- Effective communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence without authority
- High ownership, structured problem-solving mindset, and strong follow-through
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, hands-on (Gemba) environments
Nice to have: Experience in training or capability building, exposure to logistics or industrial operations, and familiarity with tools like Excel, Power BI, or project management platforms
