Mass-RI Veterinary Services is seeking an experienced Lead Veterinarian to join our growing team in Swansea, Massachusetts. We are especially interested in candidates with a strong surgical background or special interest in surgery who are excited to help shape the future of our hospital while continuing to practice high-quality medicine.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys mentorship, collaboration, and leadership while maintaining an active clinical role. As Lead Veterinarian, you will partner with hospital leadership to support medical excellence, foster a positive team culture, and help drive continued growth within our veterinarian-led organization.

What You'll Do

Clinical Leadership
  • Serve as a medical leader and role model within the hospital.
  • Promote excellence in patient care, client communication, and medical standards.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership on operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Support quality improvement efforts and advancement of medical protocols.

Team Development
  • Mentor and support associate veterinarians.

  • Partner with technicians and support staff to maximize patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.

Clinical Practice
  • Provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for companion animals.
  • Perform routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries.
  • Candidates with advanced surgical experience or a strong interest in expanding surgical services are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Collaborate with specialists and referral partners as needed to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
  • Eligible for veterinary licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for mentorship and team development.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Board Certified Veterinary Surgeon (ACVS) preferred
  • Previous leadership or medical director experience.
  • Advanced surgical experience.
