Job Purpose
The Lead Training Representative is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and administering Distribution Control Center System Operator training utilizing a systematic approach that will enhance Operators' skills, knowledge, and ability to perform their jobs safely and reliably. This position will focus on the delivery of technical, safety, and regulatory training to Distribution System Operators.
Key Accountabilities
• Ensure all Distribution System Operators meet or exceed regulatory requirements for training duration and subject matter
• Content in accordance with the position progression, OSHA, and NERC requirements
• Develop and conduct training courses for Distribution System Operators including lesson plans, presentations, and assessments.
• Supplement formal classroom training delivery with hands-on activities and scenarios that simulate real tasks performed in their jobs.
• Maintain auditable training files and data including attendance records, training materials, etc.
• Evaluate and modify existing training programs and materials incorporating new equipment, systems, technologies, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements.
• Train, develop, mentor and coach new Distribution System Operators
• Participate in incident analysis, committees, and presentations.
• Represent National Grid on various industry committees related to training.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years' experience as an electric control center System Operator required.
• Current NG EOP G014 Clearance & Control Authorization or ability to obtain authorization within 6 months required.
• Experience with Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Power Point, Excel, and Word preferred.
• Previous training or people development experience preferred.
