Summary

This Lead Specialist will serve as the IT SAP functional lead for SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) and provide secondary support for SAP Production Planning (PP). This role is responsible for leading business engagement, solution design, configuration oversight, and production support while partnering with maintenance, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance teams. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and drive continuous process improvements in an SAP S/4HANA environment. This Lead Specialist role is designed for a senior IT SAP functional professional who will dedicate majority of their effort to SAP Plant Maintenance and additionally to SAP Production Planning and Manufacturing, while providing technical leadership, mentoring team members, and driving strategic SAP initiatives across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

SAP Plant Maintenance
  • Lead the design, configuration, implementation, and support of SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) solutions for project and daily support
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand maintenance and asset management requirements and translate them into SAP solutions.
  • Lead functional design for equipment, functional locations, notifications, work orders, preventive maintenance, maintenance plans, task lists, and refurbishment processes.
  • Ensure integration between PM and SAP MM, FI/CO, Asset Accounting, and other SAP modules.
  • Lead production support activities, issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee testing, defect resolution, deployments, and production releases.
  • Develop functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams on enhancements, interfaces, reports, and forms.
  • Provide leadership during SAP projects, upgrades, and system enhancements.

SAP Production Planning / Manufacturing
  • Support SAP Production Planning and Manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with production orders, BOMs, routings, work centers, production versions, and MRP.
  • Support integration between PP, PM, MM, and Inventory Management.
  • Participate in manufacturing-related projects and process improvements.

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Serve as the functional lead for SAP PM initiatives and support cross-functional SAP projects.
  • Mentor junior analysts and functional consultants.
  • Lead requirements gathering, solution workshops, and design sessions.
  • Establish and promote SAP best practices and governance.
  • Coordinate activities across business teams, developers, and external vendors.
  • Provide project estimates, prioritize work, and manage deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of maintenance and manufacturing processes.


Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of SAP functional experience with deep expertise in SAP Plant Maintenance (PM).
  • 2+ years of experience leading SAP projects
  • Working knowledge of SAP Production Planning (PP) and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations and support.
  • Strong knowledge of PM integration with MM, FI/CO, Asset Accounting, and Production Planning.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the energy, oil and gas, refining, or manufacturing industries.
  • SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
  • Experience with SAP Fiori applications and SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
  • Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance.
  • Experience with Agile and SAP Activate methodologies.
