Job Title: Lead Software Engineer

Your impact:
As a Lead Software Engineer, you guide a team of engineers building and scaling 120Water's platform. You will own technical direction for your team's work across 120Utility, 120State, and 120Connect, balancing hands-on development with technical leadership. Your work shapes both the software and the engineers who build it.
How you'll spend your time:
You will spend your time leading technical design, coaching engineers, contributing code on key projects, and partnering with product and engineering leadership. Expect a player-coach mix of leadership and hands-on work.
What you'll do:
- Lead technical direction and design for your team's work
- Coach and develop a team of software engineers
- Contribute hands-on code on critical projects
- Own delivery quality, architecture, and technical standards
- Partner with product to shape roadmap and execution
- Drive improvements in process, performance, and reliability
What you bring:
- 6+ years of software development, including technical leadership
- Strong full stack skills and architectural judgment
- Experience leading and developing engineers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- A track record of shipping reliable, scalable software
Nice to have:
- Experience with TypeScript, Node, React, Java, AWS, or Kubernetes
- Background in SaaS or data-intensive platforms
- Experience scaling engineering teams
