Full Job Description
The Lead Software Architect shapes the technical vision and system design of a company. He/She acts as the crucial bridge between business strategy and hands-on engineering, defining scalable, cloud-native architectures while guiding engineering teams through complex development and modernization lifecycles. The Lead Software Architect analyzes software requirements and defines system components to ensure efficient and scalable software architecture. He/She designs and implements software solutions to consider business and technical needs and ensures compatibility with existing systems. The Lead Software Architect creates and maintains architecture documentation such as design specifications and diagrams to guide future maintenance and development. He/She works with non-technical stakeholders to analyze requirements and understand constraints, dependencies, and business needs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Strategic Architecture: Design end-to-end, highly scalable, and secure systems (e.g., microservices, event-driven, and API-first models).
  • Technology Standards: Define architectural principles, guardrails, and technical roadmaps. Evaluate and justify build vs. buy decisions.
  • Technical Governance: Oversee architecture throughout the software lifecycle. Conduct thorough code reviews and validate technical solutions.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship to engineers and help them grow into architecture roles. Coordinate multi-team execution to elevate overall engineering standards.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Communicate complex technical trade-offs - such as cost, timeline, and system performance - to non-technical business leaders.
  • Modernization: Define legacy migration strategies and incremental value delivery plans. Integrate modern engineering practices like AI-assisted workflows and DevOps.
