OverviewAs a Lead Consultant at Excella, you will not only develop high-quality software solutions but also provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members. You will guide project execution, ensuring alignment with client needs while upholding best practices in software development. Your ability to communicate effectively and lead within an Agile environment will be crucial to delivering impactful solutions.
Responsibilities: - Lead the design and development of software solutions for commercial and government clients using Python and Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance, fostering professional growth within the team.
- Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Ensure best practices in coding, architecture, and Agile methodologies are followed.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high code quality.
- Advocate for the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance project outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across teams and projects.
Qualifications: - 6+ years of experience in software development, with a strong technical foundation.
- Expertise in Python and Python frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Experience with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
- Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.
- Strong knowledge in object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, and testing strategies.
- Strong knowledge of database design, ORMs like SQLAlchemy or Django, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Strong knowledge in implementing secure programming practices.
- Proficiency in Git-based workflows and software development lifecycle management.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience leading teams and mentoring developers in a consulting or technical environment.
Preferred Qualifications: - Understanding of trunk-based development practices such as using feature flags.
- Knowledge in instrumenting an application for observability.
- Experience with DevOps and Continuous Delivery tools like Jenkins, Harness, GitLab CI/CD, AWS Lambda, or Terraform.
- Familiarity using GenAI productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and GitHub Copilot.
- Familiarity with data engineering tools (Pandas, NumPy, Spark, Airflow).
This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary that Excella reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top or bottom of the range.
Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus in addition to the base salary. This variable pay opportunity is dependent upon the attainment of shared firmwide goals and objectives as determined by Excella's Executive Team. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.
Should your experience and knowledge qualify you for a different position or title within Excella, we may consider you for positions that better align with your qualifications. In that case, we will provide the range for those positions as well.
