The Opportunity

Build the Future with Us - As a Lead Project Controls Analyst, you will play a critical role in enabling informed project delivery decision-making on some of WSP's most complex and high-impact projects. By providing clear visibility into cost, schedule, and financial performance, you will help project teams manage risk, maintain control, and deliver successful outcomes for our clients and communities. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and informal leader within integrated project teams, guiding best practices in project controls and supporting the development of less-experienced analysts through collaboration and mentorship. This role is suited to an analytical professional who thrives in a controls-focused environment and enjoys supporting major projects through data-driven insight.

Your Impact
  • Establish and maintain robust project cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow projections to support effective project delivery.
  • Monitor project performance against approved cost and schedule baselines, ensuring early visibility of risks and trends.
  • Identify, analyze, and clearly communicate cost and schedule variances to support proactive decision-making.
  • Support initial project risk assessments and contingency planning activities for complex or high-risk projects.
  • Prepare and maintain project controls reports and dashboards that provide clear insight into project financial performance.
  • Support change management analyses, assessing cost and schedule impacts associated with scope changes.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Accountants, and leadership to provide earned value metrics (CPI, SPI) and forecast insights (EAC, ETC).
  • Support the development, application, and continuous improvement of project controls standards, procedures, and tools across major projects.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to junior and intermediate Project Controls Analysts, supporting quality and consistency across the team.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in project controls, cost management, and financial performance analysis on complex or major projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of project cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management practices.
  • Proven ability to analyze cost and schedule data, including earned value management metrics (CPI, SPI, EAC, ETC).
  • Experience supporting project risk assessments, contingency development, and change management processes.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights for project teams and leaders.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working alongside multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience providing technical oversight or mentorship to junior or intermediate project controls professionals.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 - $118,900
MB & ON: $81,900 - $112,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $81,100 - $107,700
