Job Title: Lead Product Engineer

Pay: Up to $110,000 base salary + target bonus opportunity (10%, with potential up to 20%)

Work Schedule: Full-time | Onsite 5 days per week | Flexible schedule options available (6:00 AM-3:00 PM or 7:00 AM-4:00 PM)

Job Description:

The Lead Product Engineer will provide technical leadership and direction for the engineering team, supporting the design, development, certification, and continuous improvement of pressure vessels, HVAC tanks, and fabricated products.

This role will serve as a key technical resource, ensuring products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and ASME requirements while supporting projects from initial design through manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be a strong engineering leader who can mentor team members, improve engineering processes, and collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, manufacturing, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, designers, and engineering technicians.
  • Manage engineering projects, priorities, and timelines to ensure successful execution.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure products meet ASME standards, customer requirements, and internal quality expectations.
  • Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve technical challenges and improve production processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Establish engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Assist with engineering change management and product improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales, supply chain, and vendors on technical solutions.
  • Support audits, inspections, and certification activities.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and priorities to engineering leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience required; 8+ years preferred.
  • Experience within HVAC, pressure vessel, heavy fabrication, or similar manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Prior technical leadership, project leadership, or team mentoring experience required.
  • Experience working in an ASME-certified manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of welding, fabrication, machining, forming, and assembly processes.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and engineering change processes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with ASME U Stamp certification programs.
  • National Board registration experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience leading engineering teams in an engineered-to-order environment.
