Full Job Description
We seek a Lead Manufacturing Specialist 1 to coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and internal departments) according to production schedules. This role will oversee departmental operations and be responsible for planning/execution of all materials. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements. • Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy. • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions. • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues. Required Qualifications • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)). Desired Characteristics • Proven experience working as a materials or demand planner or in a similar role, preferably in the commercial or aerospace industries. • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or other statistical software. • Solid understanding of supply chain principles, processes, and best practices. • Experience with supply chain management systems and tools, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) software or inventory management systems. • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with a detail-oriented approach. • Strong technical background with the ability to interpret technical data. • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and build positive working relationships. • Knowledge of forecasting techniques, demand planning, and inventory optimization methodologies.
