Full Job Description
Provide manufacturing engineering support for Space Ignition Systems, with safety as the first priority in all activities and deliverables. This role impacts departmental operations and is responsible for planning and executing continuous improvement initiatives, setting clear expectations, and driving accountability through measurable results. The role also supports execution of material discrepancy reports, cost-out projects, and process improvements within Space Ignition Systems, operating within standard functional practices and procedures while exercising appropriate independence in day-to-day execution. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: - Takes ownership of safety within the assigned work area and prioritizes identification and closure of unsafe conditions and behaviors. - Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy. - Develops in-depth understanding of key business drivers and how the team integrates with other teams and contributes to the business, using this understanding to accomplish goals. - Applies independent judgement and develops proposals, escalating when necessary to drive results. - Use technical expertise and structured problem solving to resolve issues and improve processes. - Partners cross-functionally with internal resources to arrive at decisions. - Applies established interpersonal skills and leads by example for peers and employees. - As new products and processes are developed, this role will include responsibilities in production and development. - Other duties as assigned. Required Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years’ experience in Engineering or Manufacturing) plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Engineering or Manufacturing. Desired Characteristics & Experience: - Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity and conciseness - Proven ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies to achieve results - Experience using data-driven decision-making to guide actions and priorities - Evidence of being a self-starter, with the ability to succeed independently and without unplanned support - A track record of partnering effectively with operators, maintenance, quality, and other cross-functional teams to move projects forward - A degree in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical engineering - Experience with component level and/or systems testing. - Background and experience with Electronics (electrical technician or Engineer). - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems using a structured problem-solving approach. - Ability to document, plan, market and execute programs. - Established project management skills. The base pay range for this position is $87,000 to $116,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan.
