Qualifications

• ARRT Mammography Certification required
• NYS DOH Radiology Technician License required
• Familiarity with Digital 3-D and Quality Control preferred
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (2 years)
• At least 2 years of experience in mammography
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred

Responsibilities

• Educate patients about the mammography exam, ensuring comfort and privacy
• Perform diagnostic and screening mammograms and document them appropriately
• Lead training and support for other Mammography Technologists
• Produce high-quality images for radiological evaluation, focusing on detail
• Conduct quality control functions specific to mammography
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
• Understand and apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
• Maintain accurate techniques in mammography positioning and exposure
• Act as the main contact between patients, Radiologists, and support staff
• Engage in continuing education to maintain professional competencies
