Qualifications

• ARRT Mammography Certification required
• NYS DOH Radiology Technician License required
• Knowledge of Digital 3-D mammography and Quality Control preferred
• Completion of an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology (2 years)
• 2-4 years of experience specifically with mammograms
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Educate patients about the mammography exam, ensuring their comfort and privacy
• Perform diagnostic and screening mammograms and document results accurately
• Lead training initiatives for other Mammography Technologists
• Assist Radiologist during complex examinations, including biopsies
• Ensure high-quality film production for radiologist evaluation
• Conduct quality control functions for mammography operations
• Gather and maintain statistical data related to mammography services
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
• Exemplify a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Accurately position patients for mammography examinations
• Act as the primary contact for patients, Radiologists, and support staff
• Engage in ongoing education to keep skills current
• Utilize proper body mechanics throughout all duties
