Lead Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our Lodi Plant in
Lodi, CA.
Pay Rate: $41.17 per hour. This is a full-time, on-site role (40 hours per week), with weekend and overtime hours required as needed. This position is part of a seniority based Collective Bargaining Unit (CBA).
As a journey-level Maintenance Mechanic you'll be responsible for the continuous operation, safety, and efficiency of our industrial equipment. In this role, you will work both independently and collaboratively to perform critical repairs and preventive maintenance. This is a fully qualified position for an experienced technician who thrives in a dynamic production environment and can confidently troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
Job Responsibilities:- Must be fully qualified, Journeyman Level on Operation and Maintenance of CTI Apricot Cutter and CTI ZP320 Peach Pitters.
- Qualifies as a journey-level Mechanic.
- Provide guidance and training to other (journey-level and non-journey-level) Mechanics, fostering skill development and promoting best practices.
- Communicate effectively and work closely with management and other maintenance professionals to align maintenance and repair efforts with production goals or facility-specific needs.
- Perform and oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, identify root causes of failures, and implement effective solutions to restore functionality quickly and efficiently.
- Under the direction or in the absence of a Head Mechanic, lead, mentor, train, and supervise Mechanics within a department or maintenance function, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring quality of work.
- Develop and manage relevant work schedules or shifts of other Mechanics.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventories, repair logs, and equipment performance reports.
- Order necessary materials, parts, tools, and/or supplies.
Requirements:- Identify opportunities to enhance maintenance procedures, recommend upgrades or adjustments to equipment, and contribute to overall efficiency.
- Act as the primary or secondary point of contact for urgent equipment breakdowns, coordinating rapid response efforts to minimize downtime.
- Reliable and able to maintain excellent attendance.
- Available to work all shifts, including night shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM), and weekends as needed.
- Significant (5+ years) relevant industrial experience.
- Committed to safety and food safety, including use of appropriate PPE.
- Must possess and use personal hand tools.
- Basic fabrication capabilities, and fundamental hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, and plumbing knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge of vacuum systems, motion control systems, and HVAC systems. Must possess at least basic computer knowledge.
- Certified ability to operate/drive a forklift (a.k.a. industrial lift truck).
- Ability to create and review machine drawings and schematics.
