Summary

This position is located in the Cybersecurity Modernization and Privacy Branch (CMPB). CMPB supports the implementation and continuous monitoring for compliance with IT privacy policies, Federal Information Processing Standards, and privacy requirements for all information technology used in support of the USPTO.

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person. Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year.

You enjoy elevating performance management efforts by supporting product and/or project performance management (including assessing quality, compliance, etc.), organizational/functional reviews, and ad-hoc assessments required by OCISO senior management to assess performance against established goals and objectives.

Qualifications

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, you must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level n the Federal service: For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-13.

Specialized experience for this position includes:

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position Includes:

  1. Implementing risk management framework to identify, assess and manage privacy risks; AND
  2. Recommending solutions to mitigate privacy risks with data collection and use throughout the information lifecycle; AND
  3. Managing cloud infrastructure and related technologies such as endpoints, servers, applications, web services, databases, collaboration tools, mobile devices, wireless devices, peripherals, Internet of Things, security appliances, and email platforms.

Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at this grade level.

ENHANCED SECURITY REQUIREMENT: Sensitivity Level is critical sensitive. The incumbent of this position will require a Secret Compartmented Information clearance to be able to attend Top Secret briefings with other Department of Commerce and Department of Homeland Security entities to assess cyber threats and vulnerabilities that are Top Secret SCI in nature.

Background Investigation - If selected for this position, you may be required to complete a Declaration for Federal Employment (OF-306), which includes a fingerprint and credit check, to determine your suitability for Federal employment and to authorize a background investigation.

Relocation Expenses are not authorized and will not be paid.
