Starting Salary: $82,000/yearly

The Lead HRIS Analyst serves as the organization's senior technical expert and strategic lead for Human Capital Management (HCM) systems. This position provides technical leadership, establishes HRIS governance and best practices, and oversees complex enterprise initiatives that support Human Resources, Payroll, and related business functions. The Lead HRIS Analyst partners with organizational leadership to develop HR technology strategies, mentors and guides HRIS staff, manages high-impact system implementations and enhancements, and drives innovation through process automation, data analytics, and continuous improvement to support organizational goals.

What you will do as an Lead HRIS Analyst:
  • Serve as the lead administrator and subject matter expert for the Human Capital Management (HCM) platform, ensuring system integrity, reliability, security, and optimal performance.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to HR Data Administrators and other HRIS team members to ensure employee data is accurate, compliant, audit-ready, and maintained according to established governance standards.
  • Oversee and optimize all HRIS interfaces, integrations, and automated data feeds to ensure seamless, accurate, and timely data exchange across enterprise systems.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Human Resources, Payroll, Scheduling, Information Technology, Finance, and third-party vendors to ensure HR systems effectively support organizational objectives and payroll processing.
  • Lead enterprise-wide HRIS initiatives and complex projects, including organizational restructures, mass data conversions, and system implementations.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve highly complex system issues involving configuration, workflows, security, business rules, integrations, and system performance while recommending long-term process improvements.
  • Manage vendor relationships by monitoring issue resolution, coordinating escalations, evaluating system enhancements, and ensuring service level expectations are met.
  • Lead the planning, testing, validation, and implementation of HCM system upgrades, patches, new modules, and releases while minimizing operational disruption and ensuring business readiness.
  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics using Cognos Business Intelligence and other reporting tools to support operational, compliance, financial, and executive decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain data governance standards by conducting audits, validating data integrity, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions to improve data quality.
  • Partner with HR leadership to evaluate business processes and recommend system enhancements, automation opportunities, and best practices that improve operational efficiency and employee experience.
  • Develop and deliver training, documentation, user guides, and knowledge resources for HRIS users, managers, and system administrators while serving as the organization's functional expert.
  • Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to HRIS staff, fostering technical development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Monitor emerging HR technology trends, legislative requirements, and industry best practices, recommending innovative solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop, document, and maintain HRIS governance, standard operating procedures, system controls, and change management processes.
  • Participate in strategic planning for HR technology initiatives, including system roadmaps, future implementations, vendor evaluations, and process transformation efforts.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.


Work Experience

To be successful as the Lead HRIS Analyst; you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible HRIS, HCM systems administration, business intelligence, or related systems experience, including demonstrated experience leading complex enterprise projects.
  • Advanced proficiency developing reports, dashboards, and analytics using Cognos Business Intelligence or comparable enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Expertise configuring and supporting enterprise Human Capital Management systems, including security, workflows, integrations, and data management.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and serving as a technical lead for HR systems implementations, upgrades, and process improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time & Attendance, and Scheduling processes and their integration with enterprise systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously.
  • Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise reporting, database, and analytics tools.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, Workday, UKG, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, or Project Management certification are preferred.
