Summary

About the Position: Functional Lead overseeing a 26-member multidisciplinary team consisting of 8 Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officers (PEBLOs), 6 Contact Representatives, and 2 Administrative Assistants.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Help

• Provide direct technical guidance, workflow distribution, and operational oversight to a multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure the accurate and expedited processing of Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) actions in full compliance with established standards.
• Formulate, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive briefings and executive correspondence to senior command leadership regarding complex Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) cases.
• Serve as the primary advisor to unit commanders to ensure command requirements, timelines, and statutory mandates are strictly met.
• Leverage comprehensive knowledge of institutional policies, regulatory guidance, and administrative resources to rapidly identify, mitigate, and resolve systemic and case-specific bottlenecks, ensuring uninterrupted case progression.
• Synchronize cross-functional communication among clinical providers, Nurse Case Managers, Military Service Coordinators (MSCs), and external command Points of Contact (POCs) to maintain end-to-end alignment across the IDES continuum.

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.
• This position may require occasional travel outside the commuting area up to 10% of the time.
• This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes planning work to be performed by staff; providing guidance or training to staff members; applying policies, regulations, and directives within a disability evaluation system; performing counseling, data collection, and medical coordination within a disability evaluation system; and utilizing a medical tracking database.

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
