Job Description Summary
All resources and logistics required to perform oversight, services and repair activities on GVH vendor's, and customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, replace, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Reports to the Product Line Manager, Steam Separation & Services for fleet wide modifications of the respective vessel internals systems, and plant piping, BOP, etc. Support Plant Modifications & Services (PM&S) Project Managers to develop, manufacture, test, and install field modifications at US, and International Nuclear facilities. The Lead Field Engineer will provide support in areas such as, but not limited to;
  • Project Planning
  • Project Scheduling
  • Drawing Reviews
  • Customer interaction
  • Vendor Oversight (manufacturing, testing, etc.)
  • Tooling assembly & Qualification
  • On-site technical directions for installation of nuclear components or repairs.
  • Lessons Learned development and team training


Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to craft labor in support of; reactor modification equipment manufacturing, and installation.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members


Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited college/university OR 5 years of relevant work experience.


Eligibility Requirements
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time in both the US and International capacity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to Nuclear Plants
  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, but qualified candidates will be considered for remote positions.


Desired Characteristics
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • BWR vessel internal hardware knowledge / experience
  • Knowledge of nuclear industry products and services
  • Experience working with nuclear power plant outages / services and with customers
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with customers and technical support teams.
  • Flexible to changing environment and work stakeholders
  • Ability to rapidly identify problems and contribute to prompt resolution
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Technical writing background is a plus.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $78,800.00 and $131,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
