Job DescriptionThe Lead Facility Engineer is responsible for a broad spectrum of engineering activities related to their assigned facilities. You will report to the Manager of Lead Facility Engineering Department.
Responsibilities Include:The Lead Facility Engineer applies knowledge, practices, technique and experience in a leadership role working with engineering, facility management, operations, maintenance, and programmatic personnel for the following:
- Manage facility system configurations
- Specification of system equipment maintenance
- Monitor equipment and systems performance
- Develop engineering strategy for the facility
- Identify and prioritize issues for the Facility Health Committee (FHC)
- Failure analysis
- Modification Design
- Operations Support
- Engineering Leadership
Required:- Level 4: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 9 years' experience, or a Master's in an engineering discipline and 6 years' experience, or a PhD in an engineering discipline and 4 years' experience.
- Level 5: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 14 years of experience. Master's and 8 years' experience. PhD and 6 years of experience.
- Must be able to obtain MFC Lead Facility Engineer Qualification.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
The ideal candidate will possess:- Professional Engineering license is desirable but not required
- Knowledge of configuration management processes
- Experience working in the DOE complex and/or Nuclear Facilities
Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds without assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required. Job Information: Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our MFC facility with every Friday off.
- The pay range for this position is: Level 4 ($114,360 - $234,336)/Level 5 ($137,076 - $281,196). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
- TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
- Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
