BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: As a Lead Engineer, Integration at MSC, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of integration solutions across enterprise systems, partner platforms, and digital applications. This is a hands-on, solution-oriented role that works closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable integration designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards. You will lead the implementation of integrations using modern patterns such as APIs and event-driven messaging, while supporting the transition from legacy integration approaches. Working in partnership with the Solution Architect, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality integration solutions, leading delivery efforts, and mentoring engineering teams to support MSC's evolving integration platform strategy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Solution Design & Delivery
- Design, develop, and lead the implementation of integration solutions across enterprise systems, partners, and platforms
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable integration designs
- Lead and participate in full lifecycle delivery (design, build, test, deploy, support)
- Ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Own delivery of integration solutions from design through production, ensuring quality and alignment with requirements
Technical Implementation & Problem Solving
- Build integrations using modern patterns, including APIs, event-driven messaging, and data transformation techniques
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and data flow issues across systems
- Apply best practices for error handling, resiliency, and data validation
- Ensure solutions are production-ready and operationally stable
Delivery Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead small to mid-sized integration delivery efforts across internal engineers and external consultants
- Provide technical leadership during implementation, ensuring alignment with architecture and design standards
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and developers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement
- Support onboarding and development of team members and delivery partners
Standards Application & Modernization
- Implement integration solutions in alignment with established architecture patterns, standards, and guardrails
- Contribute to reusable integration components, templates, and frameworks
- Drive modernization efforts by transitioning legacy integrations toward scalable, API- and event-driven architectures
Platform Contribution & Operations
- Support the stability and reliability of the integration platform through monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Ensure integrations are observable, supportable, and properly documented
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and overall platform effectiveness
Collaboration & Delivery Support
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver integration capabilities
- Support planning, estimation, and execution of integration work
- Communicate solution design, progress, and issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS What You Need: - Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent experience required
- 6+ years of experience in systems integration, software development, or a related field required
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise integration solutions in complex, multi-system environments
- Experience leading technical delivery efforts and mentoring engineers, consultants, or technical teams
- Strong expertise in enterprise integration patterns, APIs, event-driven architecture, and modernizing legacy integrations toward scalable, loosely coupled solutions
- Experience with integration platforms and technologies (e.g., SAP Integration Suite, MuleSoft, messaging/event platforms, MFT solutions)
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for integration development and support
- Strong understanding of data integration, transformation, distributed systems, system-to-system communication, and relational database concepts (SQL)
- Familiarity with modern data and integration architectures supporting real-time processing, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled business capabilities

Other Requirements: - A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 10% of the time are required
- This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information ("ITAR") and/or Controlled Unclassified Information ("CUI")
Compensation starting at $85,100 - $133,760 depending on candidate location and experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
