Lead - Electrician
The primary role of the Lead Electrician position on swing shift is to lead and supervise a team, including but not limited to maintenance flow and scheduling, creating a culture of teamwork and cooperation between major processing segments and integration of operating personnel and maintenance staff.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Manage the electrical team in Usk including but not limited to, time clock management, performance reviews, disciplinary action, and training
• Perform various tasks assigned by the Electrical Supervisor
• Manages electrical maintenance, and calibration on electronic equipment and controls
• Coaching and mentoring team members
• Performs mandatory visual inspection of the equipment and facilities before use
• Promote Safety to the team members and be an example of taking the lead in putting safety 1st.
• Build sustainable communication bridges between departments for quality, production changes, and inventory plans.
• Performs mandatory visual inspection of the equipment and facilities before use
• Electrical project management, maintenance, and schedules
• Design, program, and aid in the installation of manufacturing equipment and related systems
• Manages wiring schematics and blueprints
• Designs and develops programs for control systems
• Specify instrumentation for manufacturing equipment and related systems
• Develop and implement programming of necessary systems for increased automation, efficiency, and value-added projects
• Monitors line efficiency and works with staff and supervisors for maintaining Company targets for process improvements
• Evaluates equipment to establish troubleshooting and repair procedures
• Trains others on programmable controllers, proper program coding and with consistency
• Assists and instructs in the operation of electronic equipment and diagnosis of electrical control problems
• Provides operators with technical assistance and training as necessary
• Analyzes causes and implements corrective action on repetitive or major electrical problems
• Maintain lines of communication with other team members
• Learning and applying lean business practices
• Know, Understand, and Apply the Lock-out Tag-out procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Ensure tools, supplies, and equipment are in their "home locations" at all times
• Maintain lines of communication with other team members
• Fill out a maintenance request and Idea Cards when needed
• Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Preferred: Electrical Certification or Degree
• Understand motor theory, specifically synchronous motor attributes
• Familiar with 4-20 ma instrumentation, servo systems, positioning systems and assorted feedback devices
• 2+ years of experience in electrical design and layout, Logic Controls, and Project Management
• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment (lumber manufacturing a plus)
• Works well in a team environment, communicating on the floor with manufacturing team on project status, process improvements etc.
• Troubleshooting skills, self-directed leader, safe work record, and good attendance record
• Experience with motion controls, including VFDs, servos, field wiring, relay logic etc.
• PLC experience required: Allen Bradley PLC5, Logix 500 and Logix 5000
• Software for which experience would be a plus: Allen Bradley RSLogix, Allen Bradley RS View and FTView, Siemens TI, Visual Basic, AutoCAD.
• Ensure safe work practices & follow safety procedures
• Dependable and reliable with a good attendance record
• Ability to streamline processes and cut waste within area of responsibility
• Lean techniques and experience preferred
• Must be 18+ years old to work in an industrial sawmill environment
• Must have HS Diploma/GED
• Must be able to continuously stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders safely. The weight required to be lifted each normal workday may occasionally exceed fifty (50) pounds at a time

HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE:
• 40+ hours a week
• Shift work and/or weekends
• Full time
SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS:
• Pay: $35/hr-$50/hr
• Company Provided: laptop and phone allowance
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
