Position Summary

The Lead Electrical Engineer is a senior-level technical expert responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing power distribution systems for RK Mission Critical's modular electrical product designs. This position leads complex electrical design efforts involving UPS systems, switchboards, and switchgear integration while providing advanced technical guidance to engineering, production, and field teams. The Lead Electrical Engineer ensures all electrical systems are engineered for code compliance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability within a modular production environment.

Role Responsibilities
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Lead the electrical design for modular infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications, including but not limited to modular data centers, power modules, e-houses, electrical skids, and other specialized electrical systems.
  • Develop and review single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts for both AC and DC systems supporting critical power applications.
  • Lead and interpret the design and integration of Building Management Systems (BMS), security, controls, and networking infrastructure within modular power and data center solutions.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other electrical design platforms to develop detailed models, layouts, and construction drawings for modular power systems, ensuring design accuracy, coordination, and manufacturability.
  • Evaluate and specify electrical components including transformers, busways, panel boards, cable tray, cable bus etc.
  • Partner with supply chain and operations teams to review vendor equipment designs, verify technical data, and approve submittals for major electrical equipment.
  • Provide technical feedback during shop drawing and build reviews to ensure wiring details, terminations, and layouts meet manufacturing and code requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70/70E, UL, IBC, and IEC standards as applicable to modular design and installation.
  • Lead efforts to improve electrical design standardization, reducing rework and promoting scalable, repeatable system designs.
  • Provide technical mentorship to Electrical Engineers and Designers, reviewing deliverables for accuracy, constructability, and manufacturability.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all electrical power integration and modular system challenges during design and production phases.

Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical field.
    • Master Degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering is a plus.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
  • 8+ years of relevant electrical engineering, design and integration experience in critical power systems, modular data centers, or large-scale electrical infrastructure.
  • Proven expertise with UPS systems, switchboards, and switchgear integration in prefabricated or modular environments.
  • Deep understanding of power distribution design, protective device coordination, and load flow analysis.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent electrical design platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, and field execution teams.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (Uptime, NEC, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE, UL).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with a focus on manufacturability.
  • Strong background in DFM/DFA principles applied to electrical assemblies.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing design standards and best practices across teams or product lines and system reliability.
  • Ability to work independently while driving technical excellence across multiple projects simultaneously.

Minimum Physical Requirements and Accountability
  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.
  • Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
  • Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
  • Work in all types of weather.
  • Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
