Lead product managers may also task themselves with developing new products or features within existing offerings. This requires them to work with other departments —such as engineering, service, ops, sales, etc.—to ensure that they're building something that meets the needs of both the customer and the business.

Mobile & Digital Experience Leadership

  • Lead strategy and execution of mobile-first customer experiences.
  • Champion intuitive digital journeys across authentication, onboarding, refill, fulfillment, and self-service.
  • Partner with UX and Engineering to improve usability, accessibility, and customer satisfaction.
  • Use customer insights and analytics to prioritize investments.

Capability Thinking & Platform Evolution

  • Identify opportunities to convert channel-specific functionality into reusable platform capabilities.
  • Partner with capability product managers to reduce duplication and increase consistency across channels.
  • Advocate for configurable, scalable solutions over one-off customizations.
  • Help shape our transition toward capability-based product ownership.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead teams through discovery, prioritization, delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Build partnerships across Design, Engineering, Operations, Analytics, and Business teams.
  • Influence strategic decisions through data, customer insights, and product recommendations.

Product Operations & Delivery

  • Manage roadmap priorities across multiple workstreams.
  • Complete product documentation, feature definition, and implementation planning with high quality.
  • Balance innovation, technical modernization, and operational stability.
