Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality CAD drawings and design packages for construction and demolition.

  • Revise drawings based on feedback, ensuring plans are ready for field deployment.
  • Enforce company drawing standards, templates, and documentation protocols.
  • Archive approved permits and maintain organized project records.
  • Manage workload across multiple projects and communicate proactively about any risks or delays.
  • Coordinate project schedules with various internal and external stakeholders.

Lead Design Manager - $104K
HTM Contractors, Inc. | Honolulu, HI

Pay & Schedule:
  • $104,000.00
  • Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Weekly Pay

The Work:
  • Produce professional CAD drawings, complete design packages, demolition/construction plan sets, and HIWASTE MFG modification and fabrication drawings.
  • Prepare accurate, permit-ready application packages and submit to DPP and other relevant agencies.
  • Track permit status daily, manage correction cycles, and communicate directly with agencies as required.
  • Revise drawings based on internal reviews, external feedback, and stamped revisions; ensure final plans are field-ready and constructible.
  • Maintain and enforce company drawing standards, templates, and documentation protocols.
  • Archive approved permits and maintain organized, compliant project records.
  • Prioritize workload across active projects, maintain an accurate project tracker, and communicate risks or delays proactively.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Operations, structural engineers, architects, consultants, and internal teams to support project schedules.
  • Identify workflow improvements, reduce errors and rework, increase turnaround efficiency, and support R&D initiatives as directed.

Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit preferred) with the ability to produce complete, permit-ready construction and demolition plan sets.
  • Experience preparing fabrication and modification drawings in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of permitting processes, agency submittals, correction cycles, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with structural engineers, architects, consultants, Project Managers, and Operations teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active projects, prioritize workload, and maintain accurate project tracking systems.
  • Strong quality control skills, including thorough drawing review, revision integration, and enforcement of company drafting standards.
  • Process-oriented mindset with a focus on reducing errors, improving workflows, and increasing turnaround efficiency.
