The Opportunity:

As the Lead Counsel Enterprise Contracting Americas (US, Canada, LATAM), you’ll play a pivotal role in fostering meaningful relationships and driving collaboration across all levels of our organization and with our external partners. This is a hybrid role, requiring three (3) days of onsite work weekly.#LI-hybrid

The Role:

Stakeholder Relationship Building:

  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including business units, legal teams, procurement departments, and executive leadership in the US, Canada and LATAM, in particular support the global leadership teams located in King of Prussia.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and partner, understanding their needs, concerns, and objectives to drive collaborative solutions.

External Partner Engagement:

  • Build rapport and trust with our external partners, vendors, and clients, establishing productive working relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.
  • Serve as the face of our organization in external negotiations, representing our values and commitment to partnership.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Facilitate open and transparent communication channels, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the contracting process.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork, encouraging cross-functional dialogue and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead your team in an inspiring way.

Negotiation Facilitation:

  • Lead negotiations with a focus on creating win-win outcomes that balance the interests of all parties.
  • Employ effective negotiation techniques and conflict resolution strategies to navigate complex discussions and reach mutually beneficial agreements.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and service enhancement, soliciting feedback from stakeholders and implementing actionable solutions.
  • Drive initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and optimize the overall contracting experience.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to assess and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

Proactively address potential issues and conflicts, leveraging your expertise and interpersonal skills to find solutions that protect our interests.

Your Skills & Abilities:
  • Juris Doctor degree required.
  • License to practice law in the US required.
  • Additional qualification in contract law, pharmaceutical law a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience managing global contracts throughout their life cycle from drafting templates to negotiating agreements up to setting up and optimizing contract processes,
  • broad experience in managing stakeholder engagements, relationship management with a proven track record of passion and success.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry preferred.
  • Legal technology experience, in particular with AI, a plus.
  • Agile design thinking experience in Legal or legal engineering experience a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to navigate complex discussions with tact and diplomacy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, influence others, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and challenges, evaluate alternatives, and propose solutions.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on driving positive outcomes and continuous improvement through automization and process excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools, in working with AI and agentic agents.
  • Open to drive innovation, in particular digital innovation.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to embrace and drive change in evolving business and technology environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to collaborate well with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Travel Requirements

  • International travel might be required, 10%.
