Lead, Business Strategy and Development - Data Analytics and Strategic Planning

Division: Health Network

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Location: Houston, TX

Salary Range: $111,118 - $130,728

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary

The Business Strategy and Development Lead is responsible for leading strategic initiatives that support the organization's long term physician workforce, ambulatory expansion, and service line growth. This role partners closely with executive leadership, department chairs, finance, operations, physician compensation, and hospital partners to develop data driven recruitment strategies, business plans, financial analyses, and market assessments that align with organizational priorities.

Job Duties

Physician Recruitment Strategy
  • Lead the annual physician workforce planning process across clinical departments and service lines.
  • Develop and maintain the multi-year physician recruitment plan aligned with organizational growth strategies.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to prioritize recruitment requests based on strategic, operational, and financial objectives.
  • Evaluate physician staffing needs using market demand, access metrics, productivity, capacity, and financial performance.
  • Oversee recruitment business cases, including financial pro formas, and provider ramp-up projections.

Service Line Strategy & Development
  • Partner with physician and administrative leadership to develop strategic growth plans for ambulatory and hospital-based service lines.
  • Support development of new clinical programs, and multidisciplinary service offerings.
  • Assist with strategic planning for JV hospital and clinical growth initiatives.
  • Support ambulatory network planning efforts including development of business plans supporting new clinic locations, satellite practices, and ambulatory service expansions.
  • Design and maintain enterprise dashboards supporting physician recruitment, network growth, service line performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources to provide actionable business intelligence.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor progress toward strategic goals.

Financial Planning & Business Analytics
  • Collaborate with Finance to develop physician recruitment financial models, operating budgets, and long-range financial projections.
  • Prepare business plans supporting strategic investments in physician recruitment and program development.
  • Monitor financial performance of new physician recruits and strategic initiatives against projections.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Six years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, or related).
  • Experience in academic medicine.
